Best zinc sunscreen

I have tried several zink sunscreen sticks for extreme water sports.

This one is without a doubt the best one by far. It didnt wash away while i was in the water, protected my skin very well in 40 C degrees weather, didnt melt when i left it in the car like other sunscreen sticks i had.

Red head and freckles didn’t burn

I have a very fair red head with freckles and I have tried everything he always burns. This stick was great and visible and didn’t rub off easily at all. Reapplied a few times and he never burnt at all

So glad you have found the perfect solution to protect your little one's fair skin. This makes us so happy!

In Love!

For very fair skinned folk looking for a tinted sunscreen, this is the only thing I've found that's not too dark or orange. Probably a better match for my skin than any foundation I've tried and I'm absolutely ecstatic to be able to largely replace wearing it with this product that has minimal/healthy/vegan ingredients!

The only downside is the stick can be a little stiff/dry over winter in a colder climate, but applying some rosehip, argan oil etc. first helps gets it moving and can also dilute it if you want less coverage.

Great product

Nice even coverage. Perfect for light skin types. Bonus that it is also sunscreen!

Thank you for your review of our SPF50+ Zinc Stick | Tinted Light. It is a great product, handy for beach and outdoor days and it's great when you don't want that Zinc look! Kindly, the P4O Team.

FAQ

Questions and Answers

What does reef-safe mean?

Many sunscreens contain ingredients that wash off our skins (or down the drain) to harm coral reefs, even at very small concentrations. Using a "reef safe sunscreen" means that no ingredients in that product will cause detrimental effects to marine life. That includes coral reefs but also marine mammals, turtles, fish and a variety of marine species. Remember that certain brands falsely claim to be "Reef-Safe" but actually contain chemicals harmful to ocean life, so always check the label for these common toxic ingredients: Oxybenzone, Avobenzone, Octinoxate, Octocrylene, Parabens, Triclosan.

Is zinc oxide the safe choice?

Zinc oxide provides excellent broad-spectrum protection and has several advantages over chemical actives.

Zinc particles sit on top of your skin and act as a reflective mirror to block UVA, UVB and Blue Light from penetrating your skin and causing damage and ageing.

Zinc oxide is also the only FDA and TGA approved broad-spectrum ingredient, and unlike any other active ingredient, its concentration in a product has no limitation.

How much sunscreen should I apply?

Sunscreen should be the last line of defence after clothing, a hat, shade and sunglasses. Research shows that sunscreens are effective when applied frequently and liberally. The Australian Government Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) recommends at least a teaspoon for each limb, front and back of the body and half a teaspoon for the face, neck and ears every two hours. You should apply one cupped adult hand (30 to 40 ml) of sunscreen for an adult body. When using an aerosol can, remember that some of the sunscreen may not land on your skin. This is also why we don't offer aerosol-type products.

Are Your Zinc Sticks Waterproof?

Our Zinc sticks are tested for 4 hour water-resistance and provide very high protection throughout intensive physical and aquatic conditions. They are virtually water & sweat proof. The packaging however is not, so keep your tube dry and out of direct sunlight.

Do they leave a sticky Residue?

No sticky residue guaranteed! We have specifically formulated our zinc to solve this issue commonly found on the market. All with natural ingredients!

Is the Packaging Compostable?

Our zinc tubes are 100% made of paper and plant-based ink. They are effectively biodegradable and home compostable.

I find it hard to remove my zinc stick after use, is this normal?

Our zinc stick formulation is purposefully designed to withstand time, wetness and repeated rubbing! We recommend using a cleansing cream or oil to remove any last-standing residue.
